No Borders for Precision: Faro CNC and Enrico Guidi Are Coming to Istanbul

Fine jewelry demands tolerances that leave no margin for error. A stone seat off by a fraction, an engraving line that wavers, a texture that repeats unevenly — these are not acceptable outcomes for goldsmiths competing in international markets. The question is not whether precision matters. It’s how consistently you can deliver it, at production pace, on every piece.

Istanbul: Where the Industry Makes Decisions

The IJS Istanbul Jewelry Show (April 1–4, 2026 · Istanbul Expo Center CNR) is recognized by its organizer Informa Markets as one of the world’s five largest jewelry trade fairs. The October 2025 edition drew 18,683 professional visitors from 131 countries — manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and technology suppliers under one roof.

Turkey’s jewelry sector itself is substantial context: the country exported USD 7.48 billion in jewelry in the past year, according to the Turkish Jewelry Exporters’ Association (JTR), and the sector recorded 72.1% year-on-year export growth in Q1 2025. Istanbul sits at the intersection of Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia — which explains why buyers from the Gulf, India, Eastern Europe and beyond attend the same fair as Turkish manufacturers.

Faro will exhibit alongside Piramit, the company’s official Turkish distributor since 2003 — a partnership with over 60 machines installed in the region over more than two decades. For visitors, that means not just seeing a machine, but talking to people who support it locally, in the local language, every day.

The Faro F1 Gold: What the Specifications Actually Mean

The Faro F1 Gold is built for jewelry production on coils, sheets and flat components. Its key technical characteristics, drawn from the official Faro datasheet:

  • XY resolution: 1 µm — relevant for engraving detail, stone pre-setting and surface texture consistency
  • Z resolution: 0.5 µm — critical for depth-controlled diamond-cutting passes
  • Spindle: 60,000 RPM, liquid-cooled, 1.2 kW — enables fine tool diameters and smooth surface finish on precious metals
  • Processes sheets down to 0.15 mm — pendants and earring blanks without material deformation
  • 7-position automatic tool magazine — supports multi-operation sequences without manual intervention
  • Natural granite frame — dampens vibration and resists thermal drift, two primary sources of dimensional inconsistency

The machine runs on Faro’s proprietary Pigreco CAD/CAM software, developed specifically for jewelry workflows. Unlike configurations using general-purpose CAM software adapted for jewelry, a dedicated platform reduces programming complexity and operator learning time. Industry 4.0 connectivity is standard.

These are points worth evaluating honestly against other options on the market — including desktop CNC units, general manufacturing machines and competing jewelry-specific systems. The right machine depends on your production volume, material range and workflow. The stand in Istanbul is a good place to have that conversation.

Come with your hardest questions. We will have the F1 Gold running and Piramit’s team on hand to answer them in person.
