A New Chapter for Faro:
Joining the EssilorLuxottica Group
After more than twenty years building precision CNC machinery for the jewelry and eyewear industries, Faro enters a new phase. Today EssilorLuxottica announced the acquisition of our company — a milestone that honors our history and opens a new horizon for our technology, our people, and the manufacturers who rely on us every day.
EssilorLuxottica acquires the Italian company Faro, advancing high-precision technologies in eyewear manufacturing
Paris, France — 23 April 2026
EssilorLuxottica has announced the acquisition of Faro, an Italian company with over twenty years of expertise in the design, manufacture and distribution of high-precision CNC machinery for milling and diamond cutting, serving the jewelry and eyewear industries.
Based in Santa Maria di Sala, Venice — in the heart of Italy’s eyewear district — Faro has become a trusted reference for eyewear manufacturers, with fully integrated solutions, from hardware to software, that unlock new creative and technological possibilities for frame manufacturing.
The acquisition further strengthens EssilorLuxottica’s vertical integration by adding critical technological capabilities to the Group. At the same time, it will enable Faro to accelerate its long-term growth, leveraging the Group’s resources, expertise and global scale.
“Faro embodies the excellence of precision engineering and the core values of Made in Italy. By joining our Group today, it further strengthens and completes our unique portfolio of expertise and manufacturing capabilities, while accelerating the development of innovative machinery for the production of frames and lenses across the entire industry. This transaction will also enable us to support Faro’s international growth while safeguarding its identity and distinctive know-how, to the benefit of all market players.”
— Francesco Milleri, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, EssilorLuxottica

A message from Faro
To our clients and partners
Today is not the end of a chapter — it is the acknowledgment of everything we have built together, and the beginning of a larger one.
For more than two decades, Faro has grown alongside an extraordinary community of jewelers, eyewear manufacturers, distributors, technicians and friends across the world. From our first F1 presented at VicenzaOro in 2003, to the F35 machining centers installed from New York to Dubai, from Istanbul to Portland — every milestone has been shared with you.
Joining EssilorLuxottica does not change who we are. It gives us the means to do more of what we already do well: building precision machinery that helps craftsmen and manufacturers turn ideas into objects.
Our commitment
What this means for you
|
01
Continuity of serviceThe teams you know — engineering, installation, training, after-sales — remain in place. Your machines, your spare parts, your Pigreco Gold licenses: nothing changes in your daily operations. |
02
Commercial relationships intactOur distributors and agents worldwide continue to represent Faro as before. Piramit in Turkey, Bijouxtec and Milano Enterprises in UAE and India, JTE in Saudi Arabia, and all our long-standing partners remain your trusted reference points. |
|
03
Accelerated developmentWith EssilorLuxottica’s resources behind us, the machines already in development — including new solutions for lens manufacturing — will reach the market faster and stronger. |
04
Identity preservedAs stated in the official announcement, safeguarding Faro’s identity and distinctive know-how is an explicit commitment of this transaction. |
Thank You
To every client who trusted a Faro machine with their production.
To every partner who walked trade show floors with us.
To every technician who pushed a machine to its limits
and told us how to make it better —
thank you.
This acquisition exists because you made Faro what it is.
We will continue to serve you with the same precision, the same honesty, and the same passion for the craft. The name on the building is what matters least; what matters is what happens inside it, every day, at the bench and at the machine.
We look forward to writing this next chapter together.
